This apartment is going for over **** a month. However, they do not cover utilities, they restrict what electronics you may have in your own home, and the heat that they 'provide' is only actually on and active when temperatures are extremely low. The building is extremely old, which they tell tenants often as an explanation for why there is common problems with water pressure or electricity.It took months of bringing up the issue before they fixed our low water pressure, and their 'fix' is still inconsistent. We can only shower when other people in the building are not using water. Our electricity also goes out frequently, and I suspect the reason for this may originate in illegal behavior. We have outages multiple times in the same week, when all we have plugged in is a handful of devices. The maintenance personnel are slow to respond, and they seem dedicated to finding a way to explain away power outages as the tenant's fault. Our power flickers every time we use the toaster, and we have explained this to Wesley Realty for *years*. We had a ComEd guy look at the fuse box two years ago, and he said that we're drawing less than half the power we should be - he also voiced that the wiring looked suspicious, our wires may be threaded through other boxes. I raised this to Wesley Realty two years ago, and they never responded to the issue. They padlocked the fusebox, though, and they're ignoring me when I point out that it's not legal to do that. We have a right to access our fusebox.Now they're going to put a separate fusebox in our unit, but they will not be taking the padlock off the one downstairs. That also strikes me as a suspicious fix - because if the issue is that our power is being redirected, a box in our unit would not show that to us, but it *would* cause any future break to happen in-unit, perpetuating the idea that the tenant is causing the issue. Meanwhile, we live in one room at a time, with only a few things plugged in to avoid power outages.
